I have not seen a company doing outsourced SSDI claims but I will not be surprised if there are plenty of outsourcing groups doing that already. Thousands of SSDI claims are submitted to the government every year and processing those claims requires a lot of employees. Outsourcing the process to independent companies is a sound management decision. One thing though, a good management team would always give precedence to the welfare of employees who loyally and competently served the company. Outsourcing therefore, should not be as simple as firing the existing workforce and shipping the task offshore. Career development plans for existing employees should be drafted and in place before starting the outsourcing process.
