The Business Process Outsourcing Industry is so huge that it had become a major source of income for a lot people. While the total amount of income may pale compared to the total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of its top provider, it can easily count as one of the largest provider of employment for many countries. The 2008 figure of the Philippines for instance, shows that 435,000 people work in the industry. This can perhaps translate to about 100,000 families in the Philippines being fed by the industry.
Like most countries, approximately 90% of the money in the Philippines is concentrated to 10% of its population. Having an industry that provides employment of source of living for many people is therefore something that should be supported by any government.
