BPO in the Philippines (2011)

I passed by the website of the Business Process Association of the Philippines and was pleasantly surprised to find out a few things. While I’ve known that the Philippines now employs the most call center employees anywhere in the world, I am happy to find out that it is also the second largest provider of non voice services. I surmise that non voice refers to the software programmers, animators, etc. IT is something that Filipinos can excel at and I am hoping that the country would be able to come up with something like Microsoft that will not only employ a lot of people but also create a lot of millionaire employees.

Raffling Ipods and Accessories

I can’t give out that many Ipods to my outstanding call center employees but I can also add Ipod accessories in my monthly or weekly raffles. Not everyone uses an ipod but a lot of them do. Those who win ipod accessories but do not own the main unit can always trade with interested coworkers or sell it to them. Of course, I also plan to raffle off other phone accessories and the winners can just swap prices. What do you think?

Caught!

Here's a political blind item: Guess who?

There’s this lady who was caught by lots of cameras in what seemed like an attempt to forcibly take over a private company sans a valid court order. The court order mentioned another company name which is not at all listed as being the same as the company being taken over. Anyway, higher officials stepped in and the takeover was foiled. Until now, the heads of the hostile takeover are yet to present any hint of regularity of their action. Otherwise, the media would have said so. But until this morning, they are being lambasted left and right by almost everyone except that lady.

Roadside Assistance

Organizations like the roadside assistance club should be encouraged by the automobile manufacturers to prosper. Such entities are like outsourced low cost but effective service providers. When car owners are able to avail of low cost but efficient service, they end up as happy campers and tends to complain less. The entire manufacturing industry should therefore band together and provide support to such organizations and that will lead to a safer driving for all.

Turning Hobbies into Monies

Any hobby like scrapbooking for instance, can be turned into a home based business. There’s this cute little girl who is now making a lot of money, and I mean really lots of moolah, just by designing myspace templates. There’s this lady who loves to sing and uploaded a few songs in myspace and charged $1 for every download of her song. She made more than $200,000 before she decided to take down her account. She probably felt weird that a lot of people are looking at her profile and listening to her songs.
