Chismis

A term used in the Philippines to describe this topic is “Chismis”, meaning “Gossip”. The latest diet pill being considered by call Center employees is Phentermine. Cafeteria talk is about the safety issue related to taking diet pills and every company doctor is probably being bugged by repeated questions in this regard. With these call center beauties being seated in front of the telephones and making/ answering calls, the tendency is for them to gain weight. Exercise seems to be infective for some. Hence, the diet pills!

Insurance

With all the benefits being given to employees of the call centers and business process outsourcing companies in manila, I will not be surprised if in addition to health, they will also be giving away free car insurance. Cars are not that expensive anymore with the economy models becoming in vogue at this time of rising oil prices. So many BPO employees drive to work in their own cars and encouraging car pooling through free car insurance is a good idea.

Gadgets

Went shopping for new accessories to my gadgets and wow! The memory cards have become a lot more powerful and cheaper than it was two years ago. I remembered when I first had a phone with that attachment and the size was nowhere near one gigabyte. Today, these things come in sizes that will put the bulky hard drives of the late 90’s to shame. That’s one good thing with technology.

Travel

Being an outsourcing professional, I get to travel a lot and make the most out of the money that I paid for my luggage kit. It’s quite sad to realize that in most instances, the quality brands are still very expensive. The manufacturers have long outsourced their production lines offshore but still, they have kept the prices high. That is one thing with luxury items; value is more imagined than real.

Outsourcing Travel and Tours

During the past few days, I have been in deep discussion with some potential investors regarding the possibility of putting up a tourism business. With Devaluation seeming to be the most popular word until now, I am hoping to be able to arrange travel tours. In will need to book the tourists in Tuscany villa rentals, outsource some aspects of the operation to the experienced people and simply worry about sales and marketing.

Outsourcing Market Research

With almost all types of information now accessible through the internet, outsourcing market research has never been a better idea. In fact, there now exist many researchers who work from home and earn decently from it. I once came upon a blog of a disabled individual who used to work for Google as a home based internet researcher. Now, he works freelance doing the same thing and is still happy with his income.

Devaluation and Tourism

The decline in the value of the US dollar actually brought some benefits to the economy. It is an old economics mantra that a devaluation encourages exports while discouraging imports. This is because the US dollar becomes cheaper in the international marker and therefore, products priced in US dollars now become cheaper. In regard to tourism, a devaluation also helps since foreigners will start to find it more affordable to have a vacation locally. Ordinary people from other countries, for instance will bnow find hotels in las vegas more affordable. But countries like the United States, though, has to keep a sharp watch on the arriving tourists to make sure that they do not end up as illegal immigrants who will compete for jobs with the local population. In regard to outsourcing, let's hope that the BPO destinations are able to continue giving better rates now that the dollar is down.

Tokyo-based Transcosmos Inc., said to be the biggest contact center company in Japan, has chosen the Philippines over India as a launch pad for its entry into the English-language market, its chosen Philippine partner said.

The local partner is the medium-sized call center firm, Logicall Inc., based in Makati City.

“The objective of this partnership is for the Philippines and Logicall to become the primary English delivery location that will answer the existing demands of Transcosmos Inc.’s client base,” Logicall chief executive Archie Rodriguez said.

BPO Expansion to LA

We are about to put up a California office and now in search for Los Angeles resumes. I wonder how successful the new office would be. Our client requires us to have Los Angeles based employees to serve LA clients and as a good outsourcing company, we have to adapt quickly and commence hiring. It won’t be long and we will be starting our LA operations. Things will be more exciting from then on.

IT Advice for BPO firms

In outsourcing companies, it is important for the IT department to constant clean the memory drives of every PC before it crashes the entire operations. Some employees, though oftentimes forbidden to download stuff from the internet , still fund a way to fill their drives with tons of mp3’s that may have been legally or even illegally obtained. Before any trouble can erupt, it is in the company’s best interest to do constant house cleaning that covers even the memory drives of the company pc’s.

Wealthy BPO Entrepreneurs

In a visit to an outsourcing company, I was quite unnerved b y the owner’s penchant for gold watched that he likes to display for everyone to see. For me, looking elegant is a bit different from extravagant. gold watches in my opinion, should only be worn when you will be meeting people of equal stature. When in black tie affairs, it is a good accessory. But in the presence of clients and employees, it could possibly draw a half admiring and half envious crowd. Stay safe

Outsourcing Sales

One of the most heavily outsourced functions in is the sales department of life insurance companies. If you will notice, there are so many insurance brokerage firms and many insurance agencies all over the place and in my estimate, these outsourced business is bringing in a huge chunk in sales. So for people who act as if this is the first time that they are hearing about outsourced insurance, they had better think again. Outsourcing is not at all bad for the economy. It gives jobs to many people and it keeps companies afloat and competitive because of low overheads.
