Offshoring Printing Services

One huge business being sent offshore is imprinted promotional products as well as monthly publications. This idea came upon me when I met with a publisher in Manila, early last year. He wanted to put start a monthly publication and intends to distribute his magazines globally. I told him that since printing costs in the US are substantially higher, he will be better off if he will have his promotional products, monthly issue and everything else printed and distributed from offshore.

HILLARY JOINS OUTSOURCING BASHERS

Facing the possibility of losing to Obama, Hillary Clinton tries to rally his people behind her by creating an imaginary enemy of the American people. We have seen this before. Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Thailand's President Thaksin both did the same and they both lost in the end. Thaksin was deposed by a popular revolt and Abe was forced to resign when the public voted out his people in the parliament.

I think I have an idea where Hillary is headed to...

Tempting the home workers

Those who hold office in their homes should make a lot of money. Common, they do not spend on clothing, gas and generally, they should be more productive than the office executives since they save a lot on travel time and energy. To reward themselves, I recommend the purchase of discount home theater seating. It makes staying at home very convenient and breaks are better spent that way.

Security tips for outsourcing professionals

Here’s a tip for fellow workers in the outsourcing business. We are people normally seen lugging our laptops wherever we go and we are the same guys that are very prone to luggage theft. One good advice that I can probably give is the use of tsa locks to keep our personal items safe. Having thieves take away our bags can be discouraged by keeping it attached to our bodies at all times. However, The bigger problem of them being able to open our bags and take away precious materials without us knowing it can be avoided with the use of reliable security locks.

The effects of real estate to the outsourcing industry

Every movement in the real estate market has a direct effect on the outsourcing industry. A boom would mean good business for the support services companies like the call centers and data storage management. It would also be heydays for the print, television and other forms advertising firms. But what really worry me are times of bust when everybody else gets dragged down. I hope that we will learn how to manage ourselves in times of crisis, starting now.

Cheap High Tech Signages and its effects to the economy

Walking the streets downtown is a fine experience at night. A store’s digital signage, when lit, provides a refreshing contrast to the dark colors of the night. Within the past few years, a lot of innovations in this signage technology were made thus effectively lowering the manufacturing costs of beautiful signages. My only beef with this development is that a lot of companies are now using it and in the macroeconomic point of view, electric consumption increases thus increasing a country’s dependence on imported fossil fuel.

Outsourced Vacations

I have been looking at the outsourcing components of the luxury shipping industry, where they provide leisurely cruises that can make for one's most memorable vacation. It was then when I realized that even in that industry, a lot of things are being outsourced to independent providers. The crews, for instance, are provided by manning firms and everything else is not hard to imagine. It seems that all that an owner needs is to buy a ship and 3rd party providers will run the entire operation.

Bracelets and anklets

Last Christmas, I was given a copper bracelet as a gift and started wearing it for its much publicized therapeutic powers. One problem though is that skin discoloration that results from a chemical reaction when copper comes in contact with the human flesh. My solution is to hide it from view by using it in my ankle. One funny thing happened when I once crossed my leg and my female friend saw it. She smiled and said, look at what I wear—It’s a fine gold anklet!

Personal notes from this weekend

Designing my new house, I checked the hardware prices and realized that beautiful cabinet knobs are actually priced very low. Of course, since the amount of steel used, or any material for that matter is quite small but it was hard for me to accept that there are actually businesses who would sell items at that level. Of course, volume sales, like being able to supply an entire housing project can make lots of profit. But one thing is very vital in this business, for sure. It’s a tight inventory management system.

Monday hangovers

Just yesterday, I had a heyday with my Nike golf equipments. I birdied a par 4 and hit about 200 yards with a 6 iron. That’s not so bad for a golfer who has not played in a year. I hope that this thing continues. Golf is a good sport and for me, it’s a very good avenue for relaxation. Let’s not talk about my eating habits after the game…. :D

Outsourcing Government Services

Outsourcing has actually started a long time ago. The governments of various countries have seen the wisdom of outsourcing various services to the private sector. As an example, we the famed Japanese Zero fighter planes were outsourced to Mitsubishi, the US planes were built by Lockeed and Boeing , etc.. At present, various services normally provided by the government, such as alcohol rehab services are also being provided by the private sector in order especially when the government seems to be ill equipped to handle it. Now I wonder, why some people are actually saying that outsourcing is evil.

IT outsourcing to reach EUR450m in 2008

Irish research firm iReach expects spending on business process and IT outsourcing to surge 30 percent during 2008.

The firm expects spending to top EUR450 million by the end of the year, thanks primarily to the anticipated slow-down in the Irish economy and the need for businesses to closely manage costs.

Furthermore, iReach predicts managed services to grow by 25 percent to hit EUR150 million in 2008. For The Weekend Warrior

The increasing number of sites that offer online gaming grows by the thousands. In fact, Pay Per Play announced (in its blog) that they have just filtered more than 50,000 websites that fall into the adult and gambling category.

With that kind of number (of gaming sites) very visible and easily accessible through the net, the risk that the weekend player will fall into the wrong sites is very high. The average individuals looking for an online casino should be able to fully enjoy their time and not burn their money on unscrupulous sites. Try Rugby

What makes Rugby so appealing to me are its characteristics of being a sport that is intense, physical and yet, graceful at the same time. Imagine the grace by which players avoid heavy opponents out to slam their bodies at them while running at full speed. Imagine the intensity by which the game is played by people who train for several hours per day and puts their entire energy within several few minutes of play. No Rugby player would ever willingly yield an inch of playing field.

Watching a European rugby game on television, I would say, is very much worth my time and I would recommend that people, especially the uninitiated, try it. For the match schedules, they can visit the official website for Europe's premier international rugby tournament, the 6 nations championship. It has the complete list of the matches, results, podcasts, information about the different teams and very cool interactive games. For those who want to receive updates via email or readers, they may also subscribe to the site’s RSS feeds.

Try Rugby. You’ll like it!
