UPDATES: Outsourcing Personal Services, Software Advancements, etc.

If you think outsourcing is on a decline, think again. The second wave of outsourcing has begun with personal secretaries, tutors, research assistants and other person to person services being availed from across the ocean. I personally have seen company in Manila that employs hundreds of tutors, teaching English to to people in Seoul. All are made possible because of the Internet.

In the world’s largest consumer market- China, the 2nd largest drug R & D is thinking of going public, when the appetite for Chinese stocks are on the rise. With the company’s solid performance, success in the IPO is not a far fetched possibility.

For some people, the greatest threats to employment are not Asian and Eastern European BPO companies. It’s actually Web 2.0 or the advanced software that allows entities to get things done without the need for IT personnel. I’d say it’s all baloney.

All the world is a stage and all the people are merely players. Roles change as new developments occur. People should shape up or step down.

Happy Halloween!
