UPDATES: Outsourcing Personal Services, Software Advancements, etc.

If you think outsourcing is on a decline, think again. The second wave of outsourcing has begun with personal secretaries, tutors, research assistants and other person to person services being availed from across the ocean. I personally have seen company in Manila that employs hundreds of tutors, teaching English to to people in Seoul. All are made possible because of the Internet.

In the world’s largest consumer market- China, the 2nd largest drug R & D is thinking of going public, when the appetite for Chinese stocks are on the rise. With the company’s solid performance, success in the IPO is not a far fetched possibility.

For some people, the greatest threats to employment are not Asian and Eastern European BPO companies. It’s actually Web 2.0 or the advanced software that allows entities to get things done without the need for IT personnel. I’d say it’s all baloney.

All the world is a stage and all the people are merely players. Roles change as new developments occur. People should shape up or step down.

Happy Halloween!

OUTSOURCING NEWS: To outsource or keep it in the house & some recent developments

Car giants NISSAN and RENAULT SA intend to realize their goal of producing a budget car that will be sold at $3,000 by outsourcing its production to India. The launch of the new model is estimated to be with the year 2010.

Meanwhile, a school union is opposing the proposed outsourcing of transportation and food service by saying that it WOULD PROBABLY result in unreliable bus service, empty promises of savings and more than 140 district employees without jobs, according to a union leader.

In another article, the merits of outsourcing vs. keeping it on the house are tackled. For the meantime, the surge in outsourcing continues with SIEMENS IT being awarded a $42 M contract and NOVARTIS awarding the handling of IT infrastructure to British Telecom in a deal worth $500 million.

At this point, the surge of outsourcing seems not to have slowed.

LATEST IN OUTSOURCING: BENEFITS, UPDATES, CONSIDERATIONS

Outsourcing, when done properly can bring tremendous to a company. Take for example this companies who dreams of pushing its sales efforts to the limit but is unable to bear the immediate cost of adding new salesmen. The solution-- Outsource sales!

Taking it a step further, the world's current outsourcing destination, India. It's outsourcing companies are not only targeting clients abroad. On the contrary, Indian firms by themselves are becoming masters in outsourcing a lot of things.

However, companies out to outsource some of their business processes should take a close look at their outsourcing partners. They should make sure that the company's ethical stance are shared by their providers. Otherwise, their ethical policies are at the very least, hollow. A SOFTWARE RECOMMENDED FOR THE ONLINE ENTREPRENEUR

When putting up a business that transacts with people or entities in distant places, it is recommended that the entrepreneur install an online shopping cart. Whether it is an ecommerce site selling various products or an outsourcing company selling multiple services, the benefits of having an ecommerce software far outweighs the cost, especially in the long run.

Based on my personal conversations with friends who are well experienced in this, as well as my personal internet research, one of the more reliable and easy to use shopping cart software comes from AshopCommerce.com. Their system installs easily, uncomplicated to operate, web based, supports almost all the known payment systems (VISA, MASTERCARD, etc) and most of all, it’s very secure. With Ashop commerce, the entrepreneur is using an award winning software that has the interests of the end user in mind. In fact, the company is so confident of its superior system that it is offering a 10-day free trial.

In my opinion, this software is a very good tool in this very competitive world. With it, an entrepreneur can actually hold office, anywhere in the world and still be able to manage his inventory, sales and most aspects of his business.

SMORTY: Try it!

One of the notable online outsourcing programs in existence today is Smorty. It is a get paid for blogging, blog advertising, blog for money and all other related variants that you can think of. It is a program that I willingly recommend to bloggers for I have seen and experienced how legitimate it is and most importantly, they pay the bloggers who participate in their program.

Smorty facilitates the smooth transaction between advertisers and bloggers by prequalifying and matching blogs to the appropriate advertising opportunities. Advertisers’ advertise on blogs through reviews a link backs by participating blogs. In return, bloggers get paid to blog.

One good thing about Smorty is the short duration that it requires to be able to review and approve the participating bloggers’ posts. If within five (5) days, the submitted blog articles have not yet been reviewed, Smorty’s system automatically approves the blog posts. Payments (though Paypal) are also disbursed shortly thereafter.

One thing that makes me hesitate at times is Smorty’s recent penchant for paying in batches, instead of following the desired number of days after the article submission. When I was still new to the program, I got paid within five days after I have submitted my posts. Just lately, I’ve noticed that they delay the payment of my earlier posts and pay it together with my later articles. I understand that paying in batches may be more efficient for the company but as a blogger, I get disappointed when payments don’t reach me on time. Don’t get me wrong, I am still happy with Smorty (they pay after all). I simply wish that they will do a bit of a revision on their paying methods.
