Just now, I read an article whose content was very close to calling for a the annihilation of the poor economies. It very much reminds me of the Neo Nazi's in Europe who goes around beating colored people, declaring that those immigrants are out to steal the jobs supposed to be for Europeans- and this happened even when the unemployment rate over there was at its lowest.
As posted before, the Internet has made it very easy for certain jobs to be done elsewhere and a refusal to acknowledge and take advantage of it is tantamount to stepping off a 100 story rooftop. Other countries will take that opportunity and the US will be left behind. Read this.
As to the question, "Are American jobs in real danger?" The answer is a strong "NO". It's not.

The writer even blames outsourcing for America's failure to sell cars to Japan.. That argument is very "Non Sequitor", if I may point out. Every automobile salesman knows that the Japanese is not buying American cars for the same reason that Americans strongly prefer Toyota, Honda and other Japanese cars over the gas guzzlers from Detroit. Click the links in this article to find out."In the immediate future, I can see a great number of jobs being outsourced. However, the process should also pave way for the creation of a lot of better news career positions for Americans.
With some of the traditional jobs now being sent to far locations, US firms should be able to give more attention to the main purposes of their businesses. It will result to the recruitment of more core personnel thus paving the way for higher productivity of American companies.
For example, with help desk call centers and vital machine parts being done elsewhere, the management of a manufacturing company will suddenly have time for greater focus on product development and marketing of their products."
