In 1945, the War ended and Canadians have successfully liberated The Netherlands. As a gesture of thanks, the Dutch royal family sent lots of special gifts that include 100,000 tulips in many colors to Canada. This started an annual gift giving of the Dutch to the Canadians that never fails to include special tulips. Therefore, whenever one thinks of a gift idea to somebody as a gesture of thanks or special friendship, why not send tulips?
